GPA Calculator FAQ
How is GPA calculated?▼
GPA is calculated by multiplying each course grade point by its credit hours, summing all quality points, then dividing by total credit hours. For example, an A (4.0) in a 3-credit course = 12 quality points.
What is a good GPA?▼
A GPA of 3.5 or above is generally considered excellent. 3.0-3.4 is good, 2.5-2.9 is average, and below 2.0 may result in academic probation at many institutions.
What is the difference between weighted and unweighted GPA?▼
Unweighted GPA uses a standard 4.0 scale. Weighted GPA gives extra points for honors/AP courses (up to 5.0 scale), reflecting course difficulty.
